Prof. Woo is currently an assitant professor at the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) since 2016, Korea. Before joining the SKKU, he was a senior research scientist at the Clean Energy Research Center, Korea Institute of Science Technology (KIST), Seoul, Korea (2011-2016). He completed his bachelor degree at Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Korea University (2004), his master degree at Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (2006), his doctor degree in the industrial microbiology at the Forschungszentrum Juelich (FZJ) and Heinrich-Heine-University of Duesseldorf (HHUD), Germany (2010), and his postdoctoral studies at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) (2011).
