Prof. Yang is currently an associate professor at Konkuk University, Seoul, Korea since 2010. Before joining the Konkuk University, he was a research associate in the Sinskeys lab at the Department of Biology of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, United States. He completed his Ph.D. in the molecular biotechnology and biomaterials laboratory at the Seoul National University. He has focused on the Functions of the transcriptional factors and their network in antibiotics production of Streptomyces coelicolor A3(2). His research group is highly interested in Production of alcohol and ester compounds, Screening of useful Psychrophiles and Halophiles, Biotransformation of Biochemicals, PHA productions.
