Hahk-Soo Kang is currently an assistant professor at Konkuk University. He received Ph.D. degree in 2012 from University of Illinois at Chicago, USA in 2012. Then, he joined the Rockefeller University as a postdoctoral associate and studied metagenomics under the supervision of Dr. Sean Brady. In 2016, he came back to Korea as an assistant professor at Konkuk University and started his own LAB. His LABs are utilizing genomics and synthetic biology tools to uncover new chemistries encoded by cryptic biosynthetic gene clusters present in microbial genomes.
