Dr. Haseong Kim is currently a faculty scientist at KRIBB and a professor, Biosystems and Bioengineering program, University of Science and Technology. He completed his Ph.D. in studying biological application of queuing theory at Imperial College London, UK. His research is focused on synthetic biology, systems biology and informatics. Specifically, he tries to understand and explain the biological behaviors in a quantitative manner. Statistical models including stochastic simulation and machine learning are used for finding novel proteins from a large-scale genetic diversity such as metagenome along with the use of single cell based genetic enzyme screening system. A range of programming languages has been used to build a platform of optimal genetic circuit design with DNA part registries.
