Dr. Ko is currently a senior researcher at the center for Bio-Based Chemistry of Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) since September 2018, Korea. Before joining the KRICT, He completed his Ph.D. in the cellular logistics & aging research lab at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Korea. During his Ph.D. program, He developed in vitro fusion assay using yeast organelles such as vacuoles and microsomes to understand molecular mechanisms of membrane fusion. He published 4 scientific papers and 1 patent until August 2018. Since joining the KRICT, He has focused on the metabolic engineering and synthetic biotechnology using budding yeast as an experimental model.
