Dr. Yi is currently a post-doctor at the Cell Factory Research Center of Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB). She graduated her Ph.D. in the department of biological sciences of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The thesis title is ‘A novel artificial photosynthesis system based on bio-scaffolds.’ Before she received Ph.D., she worked for the department of cancer and stem cell in CHA stem cell institute and the department of neurological surgery of Ohio State University as a researcher for 5 years. In this period, she participated in brain cancer research that establish the cause of the disease and also studied the inducement of pluripotent stem cells. She received M.S. and B.S. in the department of molecular biology of Sejong University. During master degree, she studied enzyme stability to sustain active form in plasma and the characterization of new enzymes in polar ocean organism.
