Dr. Liow is a Research Fellow in Synthetic biology for Clinical and Technological Innovation (SynCTI), National University of Singapore. Liu obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from National University of Singapore, where she developed genetic tools for the cyanogenic bacterium Chromobacterium violaceum. She characterized episomal vectors, inducible and constitutive promoters, selection markers and CRISPRi tool in the nonmodel C. violaceum chassis for synthetic biology applications
