Prof. Yamamura is currently a professor (since 2004) and a chief of Artificial Intelligence Course (since 2018) in School of Computing of Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech). Before then, he was a research associate (since 1989) and an associate professor (since 1996) in Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering in Tokyo Tech. He completed his Ph.D. on Machine Learning Theory in Tokyo Tech. He has focused on Artificial Intelligence, Evolutionary Computation, Systems Biology and Synthetic Biology in a series from a viewpoint of Computationally enhanced Systems Science. Currently, his research group is widely interested in Systems/Synthetic Biology. He has been an instructor for TokyoTech iGEM team since 2006, the first contest.
