Katsutoshi Hori is currently a Full Professor of Biotechnology at Nagoya University. He has got Ph. D. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1995. He worked for Petrochemical Research Center, Sumitomo Chemical Corp. (Chiba, Japan) as a researcher in 1994-1995, for Green Blue Corp. (Tokyo, Japan) as a director of the analytical laboratory in 1995-1998, for Department of Bioengineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology as an assistant professor in 1998-2004, and for Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Nagoya Institute of Technology as an associate professor in 2004-2011. At April 2011, he moved to the current position. He served on the editorial board of J. Biosci. Bioeng., which is an international journal published by The Society for Biotechnology, Japan. He is now serving an associate editor of Biochem. Eng. J. He always has several large research grants from governmental sectors as a Principle Investigator. His research style is to consistently perform studies from basic (cryptography and molecular biology) to the practical levels (bioreactor design) by himself. He started venture business to commercialize his inventions.
