Prof. Soma is currently an assistant professor at the Kyushu University, Japan, since 2016. Before joining the Kyushu University, he was a project scientist in the Atsumi lab at the Department of Chemistry of University of California Davis. He completed his Ph.D. in the Hanai laboratory at the Kyushu University. He has focused on the synthetic biology and metabolic engineering of microorganisms; particularly, he has contributed on the development of metabolomics analysis methods.
