Dr. Kuruma is a Researcher in Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). Kuruma obtained a Ph.D. in Life Science from the University of Tokyo, where he constructed an in vitro gene expression system for production of membrane proteins; he got his postdoctoral training in University of Roma Tre, University of Tokyo, and Tokyo Institute of Technology, where he worked on the construction of artificial living cell.
