Yue Shen received her PhD in University of Edinburgh on Molecular Biology. Currently, she serves as the Director of Genome Synthesis and Editing Center at China National Genebank and Institute of Genome Synthesis and Editing at BGI-Shenzhen. Her group are dedicated in establishing “Genome-Write”technologies (Genome-scale synthesis and editing) and world-leading platform to promote applications in natural product biomanufacture, disease diagnosis and regenerative medicine and new areas such as xenobiology and DNA based data storage. Her group focuses on four directions: Nucleic Acid synthesis and automation, Microbial genome write, Plant genome write and biomanufacuture, Diagnosis and regenerative medicine. Her group participated and played important roles in the initiation of the Sc2.0 yeast genome project, which is the world’s first synthetic eukaryotic genome project that aims to create a novel, rationalized version of the yeast genome.
