Chun Li is the Distinguished Professor of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), and head of Department of Biochemical Engineering and Institute for Synthetic Biosystem, and vice Dean of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of BIT. His research interests are Biotransformation and Enzyme Engineering, Metabolic Engineering and Synthetic Biology. As visiting professor he had been working for research about synthetic biology at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2011. He is a branch director of Chinese Industry Biochemical and Molecular Biotechnology Society, and associate director of Chinese Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology Society. Prof. Li has published over 240 papers and 36 patent applications, and got an Innovative Award of Hou Debang for Chemical Engineering. As chief in editor he compiled 《Introduction to Biological Engineering and Biotechnology》.
