Bingzhi Li is professor in Frontiers Science Center of Synthetic Biology in Tianjin University. He received his B.S. degree in Biological Technology from Nankai University in 2005 and his Ph.D. degree in Biochemical Engineering from Tianjin University in 2010. His main research interests are synthesis of designer genome, and engineered strains for biodegradation and bioconversion, and the development of new methods for biomass pretreatment. He has over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His awards include the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (2016), Min Enze Award for Chemical Engineering on Energy (2015), Outstanding Youth Award in 2017 Global Chinese Chemical Engineers Symposium (2017), Houdebang Award for Chemical Engineering (2018)
