Prof. Tang is a Professor in Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Deputy Director of CAS Key Laboratory of Microbial Physiological and Metabolic Engineering. Tang obtained her Ph.D. in Food Science from Seoul National University, and MS and BS degrees in Biochemistry from Wuhan Univeristy. She got her postdoctoral training in Department of Chemical Engineering, The Pennsylvania State University, where she developed the strategy of engineering regulatory protein AraC to construct biosensors for small molecules with different structures. In recent years Dr. Tang's Laboratory has focused on building up platform technologies for designing small-molecule whole-cell biosensors, and applying them in protein engineering and metabolic engineering, significantly improving the efficiency of biosynthetic pathways and microbial cell factories.
